Best of Milwaukee Regionals
We had a great time in Milwaukee last weekend at the Stampin' Up! Regional Convention. I just wanted to show you some of the highlights. First we had a fun shoebox swap on Friday night. This is the card that I made for the swap.
And the friends I made the road trip with were so much fun. Great way to get to know some of my fellow demonstrators. Cindy Standahl, Mary Kiley, Me, Kay Kalthoff, Debby Filiowich
On Saturday at the convention we started the day by hitting crowds and swapping the cards we had made for new ones. I got some great ideas that I can use for future workshops. Here is a prototype of the card I made. Can you believe it, I never took a photo of the final card and I gave them all away!!
We made a couple of really cute cards in the morning. Everything was on the table for the make and takes when we arrived. It was so cool working and laughing together. What a fun experience and a great way to get to know the other demos sharing your table.
Here are the adorable cards we made.
Okay, I know, the bow got goofy on the kite card. Stuck it on with a smooshed up glue dot, and it must have twisted and dried after I put it away, and I did not notice it until I posted it now. This card has a spinner dial with 4 kites stamped, so you can change the colors, and aren't those clouds cute.
We all agreed that this was a fun card to make, and that now we all felt like we wanted the stamp set, because it was fun to use. And yet, it had little appeal to us before. Then a funny thing happened.
So, on Friday we had all received and email from a demonstrator, Joyce Hall, who is an up line to our group of demonstrators. The "up line" is like I was recruited by Debby, so she is my up line. Kay recruited Debby, so she is my second up line, and Kay was recruited by someone who would be my third up line, and this lady, Joyce, recruited her, and that makes her my 4th up line, etc. In her email she said that we should text her at the convention, because she would like to meet all of us, and she would have a gift for us. So, after lunch, we sent her a text and went over to meet her. Here is the photo of our group, and the gift she gave us was the Send Me Soaring stamp set! OMG!! We were thrilled and floored!!! How fun was that to get, and we all left very happy.
And, at the end of the day, we also were fortunate to get our photo taken with Shelli Gardner, the founder of Stampin' Up! It was such a delight to have her at the convention, uplifting us with her energy for her products, and her company. It was so much fun to have her teach a class, and tell us her story of leaving her supplies behind, and having her daughter Fed Ex them to her. Especially funny because the same thing happened on Friday night at our swap when Debby found she forgot the flower stamp for on her swap card, and Kay forgot the ribbon for hers. I guess it happens to the best of us.
It is always a little harder to pack it up, and take your crafts on the road, whether it is for a day of scrapbooking with friends, or teaching a workshop. We all forget something, but we learn to laugh it off and improvise. But, I am always happy to bring the fun to you, so any time you would like to get a group together to make cards or scrapbook pages, contact me, and I will bring along the projects, all prepared to your liking, and everything you need to do the projects, and we will be certain to have a lot of laughs!!
Thanks for visiting my blog today, and these are the details on the cards I made to swap.
