I've been feeling Just Beachy
The weather here in Minnesota has been warm, sunny and perfect for 2 days. The windows are open, the breeze is perfect, and I just keep thinking that I want to head to our little Get-Away (our trailer) in Wisconsin. My husband was already up there twice, and they turned the water back on at the campgrounds. It will be a couple weeks before I get a chance to go up there.
Our weekend at Kay's cabin had to be canceled, so we went to play at Kay's house for Friday, and Saturday. It even included going out for dinner at a local bar, just like we had planned to do at the cabin. Debby, Kay, and I all had a great time chatting and stamping, and Laura joined us on Saturday. I worked all weekend to create my cards for the May demonstrator's swap. (I won't share those with you until after I share them with the group.) The cards I made included stamping a reflection, and chalking, something old and something new!
I have been preparing for our upcoming Card Making Buffet next Saturday, April 28, and then our Craft Sale on May 5, so I have a lot of work to do. Last week I took out a stamp set each day, and spent the day just creating. I want to keep it simple, but I just keep trying new things, going back to old techniques I have not used in a while, and I am just plain having fun.
Today I pulled out an old stamp set from about 3 years ago called Just Beachy. I chose this set because I like the fish, and they were my big focus today. I have to admit I really cased some cards, most of which I found on Splitcoast Stampers. I recently discovered the idea of searching under the name of my old stamp sets for "new" ideas, even though many of those cards were posted years ago. Isn't that great!
I stamped this afternoon while baby Olivia was napping, and when she woke up I was singing "Fishy, fishy in the brook, Daddy catch him with the hook, Momma fried him in the pan, Baby eat him like a man." I just had so much fun with Fishies.
These fish are so fun to color.

These two cards were inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch. I have never submitted a card, but since I did try the layout, I think I will submit the card. Don't know which one I like better, but the best part is the cute little beach umbrella I made with the Fancy Flower punch with the bee buzzing it.
I wanted to show the cute umbrella I made using the Fancy Flower punch, which I folded and shaped to form the umbrella. Alas, I am not very good at photographing my cards yet. I guess I should have tried a different angle.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, and hope you catch a nice one :)
