Salute to our Olympians with a Three Owl Salute
I could not resist another challenge and todays is SUO Challenges #50 – Buttons and Brads. I am such a sucker for buttons (and bows) and brads, and that's their challenge.
I was looking for something patriotic to make for a card, and was looking thru my stash of ideas, and I found a card with three banners and three hearts, and the idea grew from there. These cute little owls from Owl Occasions is such a fun set to play with, and this one was pretty simple to make with a couple strips from the Summer Smooches DSP, owls in Midnight Muse and Real Red, layered over Not Quite Navy. And because I have been having so much fun with challenges, I decided to fasten on the banners with Mini Brads, and got carried away just to bling it out, like fireworks in the sky. So, hooray for the USA Olympians who are doing such a great job in competitions in London.
I turned off the Olympics this evening to watch the news, and David Letterman's Late Night show came on. Justin Bieber is his guest tonight, and I have to share the crazy conversation they had. First Dave mentioned that Justin just had a birthday and turned 18. He asked Justin if he was going to vote in the presidential election, and Justin said no, he's Canadian. So, Dave changed the subject to turning 18, and asked if he graduated from high school, and Justin said he graduated from his Canadian High school, even though he's been tutored since 8th grade, and not actually attended school. But his mom wanted him to get a diploma instead of a GED, so the high school has been sending him work. He did not participate in commencement ceremony. Dave asked if he would attend college, and Justin said No, he was too busy working on his new album, and pointed out that it had just been released, and to celebrate he got a new tattoo that says Believe on his arm. Dave started to razz him about tattoos, and that he should not get tattoos. Justin said You sound like a grandpa. Dave said, I just don't like it when people get all covered with tattoos and pretty soon they look like the Sistine Chapel. Justin said "No, I won't look like sixteen chapels." Dave just shook his head as everybody laughed. Then he corrected him and said "Sistine Chapel" and Justin repeated "Sixteen Chapel. Four. I'm not looking like any chapel." Dave's response was "Canadian High School by mail! Why do I bother?" Poor little Justin had no clue :( I was LMAO!! He should really get out and explore the world.
