Oh, Hello! I love you!
Oh, Hello! I think I love you!! I had mixed feeling about this stamp set when I ordered it. I really wanted the Oval Framelits that coordinated with the Oh, Hello stamp set, and was just going to order the Framelits. At the last minute, as I was placing my order, I decided to bundle it, and buy them together (saving me money!LOL!). Once I placed the order, I started running into cards on blogs all over using the stamp set, but not many using the ovals. Funny how I looked forward to playing with it by the time it finally arrived.
I had seen another card where they had cut out a panel using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits banner die. They extended it by cutting one banner twice to extend the length. I thought it was interesting and put it in the back of my mind. Then I found the challenge on Sentimental Sundays to use NEGATIVES. So, make use of the cut away's background piece. I Loved the idea. Oh, I knew right away what I wanted to do....the banner cuts. And, I used the banner piece I cut out, too. The paper I used to back it is from the Tea for Two DSP, from the new SU spring catalog. It fit perfectly behind the cut banners.
I loved making this card, and I am sure that I will be looking for other ways to use my negatives. Actually, I have a special place where I save (hoard) negative scraps that I always intend to use again someday.
It was lovely of you to stop by my blog today, and I hope you will stop by our Open House tomorrow. For more information, check my sidebar Events. If not, check back on the blog, and find out what we will be making at our Make and Take Table on Saturday.

ReplyDeleteLove this....what a cool technique to use the negative space!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card...I don't know why you were having so much trouble, but I think it maybe your web browser that's giving your trouble. Regardless, I was able to enter your card in the line up. Thank you for joining us this wee at Sentimental Sundays. Look forward to seeing you again.
