Over the top Valentine
Isn't it funny how sometimes you have a great vision, but when you actually come to making the card, it just does not live up to the expectations? This is one of those cards. I don't think I have ever assembled and disassembled a card so many times. It started out with the red flocked paper that I had left from Christmas from Candlelight Christmas DSP, and I saw used on some Valentine cards. I wanted to frame it up with some Glimmer paper and really make it elegant. I tried backing it with white, no ivory that was embossed. No? How about pink? Embossed? No, too gaudy. Just when I thought I would leave it red, I had to walk away from it. Came back the next day and started playing with it again. Just was not speaking to me, so I decided to retire it. But, today I decided that I would make it into a card for my dear hubby. (He don't care, he'll take anything I make).
I decided today to take a challenge from Pal Paper Arts Color Challenge #152 to use Primrose Petals, Pool Party, and Real Red. That was the inspiration that I really need to get the card done. I gathered some banners cut from the More Amore DSP and stamped a heart with Hearts a Flutter stamp set. I added a little love inside and out using the new 25th Anniversary stamp set Best of Love. Adding the love makes it eligible for a couple more challenges at The Pink Elephant Challenge #186 and at Sentimental Sunday's Challenge #141 where they both suggested LOVE IS IN THE AIR. I just know that Gary will love his Valentine, along with the special little chocolate cake for two I got for him. Hope he shares it with me :)
Have a great Valentine's Day everyone.

Cute, Mary!! I think the pool party paper behind the brocade was the perfect color to pull this card together. Hugs and happy valentines day!!
