You make me happy

Image
We had a great card class tonight, with a couple of new visitors.  This is one of the cards that we made.  I designed this card last weekend while I was cooped up in the camper with the cold weather.  I was able to spend some time being very creative, and I especially like to play around with little stamps and make collages.  I used a bunch of different stamp sets for this card to get all the fun elements I could find.  The little collage pieces came from a new Hostess stamp set called Postage Collection.  I added a greeting from a set I got at convention called Hello, Lovely.  Inside was a happy greeting from Yippee-Skippee! And, in case you noticed the spots in the collage, they came from Gorgeous Grunge. I just could not wait to play with all the stamps I got from convention.  The cute little bicycles came from Birthday Basics DSP.  I added buttons and bows and do-das all over the place.  I had plenty of time to play around craf...

Loving you is amazing

Image
I have been so busy preparing cards for convention swaps, that I have not had any time to simple stamp and create for fun.  I headed up to the Getaway in the Woods last weekend with some creative energy to spare.  The cold weather with temps in the 60's (down in the 40's overnight) kept me cooped up in the little trailer trying to create at the small table, with some very bad tv to watch.  Not my best creative atmosphere, but I did manage to turn out some nice cards, so time was not totally wasted.   I used the Lovely Romance stamp set and the Venetian Romance DSP for one of my Over the Top card swaps, and I could hardly wait to do some more creating with this beautiful, romantic stamps and paper.  Because I stamped with Pistachio Pudding, it's hard to capture the images with my camera, but it really is very pretty.  I love the sentiments "I like loving you" on the outside, and "I think you are Amazing, I just wanted you to know" on the inside....

Smile, it's your birthday

I made about 150 swap cards for convention, and on the last day before I left, I made this card to swap.  It was the day before I was leaving, and I put my granddaughter down for a nap.  I had sewing and packing to do, but I just wanted to make one more card to swap.  I had mistakenly cut paper to short for the insert on a full card I was making for a swap, so I had a stack of short sheets.  I put them to good use for this card front.  I had seen the idea for this card, done with a circular stamp design, and I thought it would be fun made with my new Simply Stars stamp set.  It was stamped in Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  The greetings came from Happy Day and Remembering Your Birthday.  It was fast, simple, and a big hit with the swappers at convention.  It was the first to go in my general swaps.  This is one of the cards we will be making at our Simple Card Class tomorrow night, and if you let me know ...

Kind & Cozy Swap

Image
I have had a wonderful time at convention but I have been running on exhaust fumes.  I had a wonderful time wandering, observing and listening.  I have to admit that the highlight for me was the swapping.  I love meeting new people, and I love seeing what they made. Something's are very creative, and I hope that is what they said about mine. I know that is subject to opinion.  This is I made this card for an organized swap for new stamp sets.  I used the Kind & Cozy stamp set, a and this was a lot of work, but worth it. First I used the gingham roller to add Gumball Green checks to the card front.  Then I stamped the green gingham ring which I punched  with the 2 1\2 punch.  I embossed the card front, excluding the checked portion.  Next I layered that circle on the card front and cut the inside circle using circle framelits.  I layered a window sheet stamped with white Stazon ink to the center of the ring.  I stamped ...

Stampin Up Convention

We arrived in Salt Lake City today for Stampin Up! Convention, and I am too excited. This is my first convention and and I am here with some fun friends and excited to meet many more.  We are in our hotel this evening working on finishing swap project.  Can you believe they are not done? I am a great worker but a better procrastinator. I have worked on scrapbook pages and cards for several organized swaps that I will share with you during convention but I don't want to spoil the surprise for those who will receive them. Sorry for neglecting you, but I don't have any excuse except for working on these secret projects.  More tomorrow. Mary Alice
