Going Global Sneak Peek

Image
Yesterday was my 43rd Wedding Anniversary, and it was the perfect occasion to use my new stamp set Going Global.  This is one of the sets that I was able to preorder from the new Occasions Catalog that will be released in January.  As soon as I saw this set I knew I had to have it.  It makes great masculine cards, and that's always what I'm looking for.  I was sold the moment I got my hands on the Big Dipper stamp.  Adorable!  The sentiments are sweet without being goofy, so I know I will use them for those guys in my life.  I embossed the background with the World Traveler EF, and added a few paper accents from the Going Places DSP stack which will take you out of this world with the exciting prints.  I know you will love this as much as I do, and I can't wait to show you more.   So, stop back again real soon. There's snow place like home!

Aren't these little penguins cute?  I sure think so.  I got a sweet little box like this swapping at On Stage in Milwaukee, and it came from Tracy Sytsma.  We all thought it was so adorable, and I said that I wish I had that stamp set now.  One of the demonstrators I was traveling with offered to loan it to me, so I got busy and stamped a bunch for myself.  I am doing a craft sale this weekend, and I thought that these would be a good seller, because of the reaction that we all had when we saw them.  The stamp set is called Snow Place, and it has Framelits to match it so it cuts out all the adorable accessories.  It's on the retiring list, so don't wait to order it.  You can shop my Online Store here .  Come back soon, and see what else I am creating.  It's craft sale season and I am busy like an elf in my workshop.  Mary Alice

Stampin' Up! retiring product list and a Christmas card with Peaceful Wreath and Wonderland

Image
Stampin' Up! announced today their retiring product list from the Holiday Occasions catalog.  You can click here to go to the PDF with the list of retiring products which will be available while they last.  Once you have your list ready you can shop my Online Store to place your order.    I thought I'd share with you a card made at one of my Christmas Stamp-a-stack classes made with Peaceful Wreath and Wonderland stamp sets.  Both of these beautiful stamp sets will be retiring, and you would not want to miss out on these.  My card made with Lost Lagoon, and the pinecones and greeting were done with gold.  I used a little Blackberry Bliss to accent the card with some stars.    Hope you like the cards, and it inspires you to combine these beautiful stamps, too.   Mary Alice

Happy Halloween

Image
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!   I spent the day in my craft room working on swap cards.  I have so many to do this week, and they all seem to have creeped up on me.  This is a card that I made for my swap in October, and I thought I'd share today.  Made with the Happy Scenes stamp set and a lot of fun playing with colors and mediums.  I sponged the background, colored the pumpkins and leaves, and trimmed it with fun lacey curtains and spiderwebs.  I felt like a little schoolgirl creating a work of art in school.  I think Halloween is a time that makes all of us feel like a child, and I hope you had some fun like a kid today, too.  For me, it was carving pumpkins, too.  Hope to share more fun with you soon, so stop back again.   Mary Alice

Kids, Carts, Candy, Corn, Sparklers and a Card for the 4th of July

Image
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!  I had an extra long weekend and was able to get some stamping done at the trailer this weekend.  We headed up on Thursday, and I pulled out my stamps and got some creative time in before the family all converged for the weekend.  I had seen a new card technique last week, and I had to give it a try.  It's called Retiform, and Debbie Henderson introduced it to me on her blog last week, and she had a wonderful video here .  I could not wait to try my hand at it.  I made this card for a swap, and normally I would not share a swap card in advance, but I wanted to play along with a couple of challenges this weekend, and I only got a chance to work on this card, so I will share it on a couple sites that all called for RED, WHITE, AND BLUE projects.  My card is not only red, white, and blue, but also a birthday card, so I will share at Seize the Birthday .  Color Q Challenge #297 had four colors, that ...

Hey Dad it's your day

Image
It's been driving me crazy that I have not had time to get into my craft room and create.  I had my basement flood 2 weeks ago, and we had to take out all of the boxes and furniture, and sort through it in the garage.  I have been weeding through 35 years of accumulated junk, and tossing or repacking and labeling the stuff I want to keep.  It's wearing me out, and not my idea of fun at all.  We have been dealing with contractors removing all the wet materials, and contractors bidding to put it all back together.  Looks like it will be a long process, and one we are not looking forward to, except I will have a lovely remodeled basement when it is done.  I am hoping ot include a new craft area and possible classroom space.  I have my craft room upstairs, so none of that was affected, but my sewing room is what took the worst damage.  Thank goodness for plastic totes.  My box arrived on Wednesday from Stampin' Up! with new suppl...

Choose happiness for this weekend

Image
Choose happiness!  That's how I started out this weekend.  I headed up to our camper in Wisconsin for a weekend of stamping.  It was going to be just my husband and I, no kids, no grandkids, and nothing buy quiet solitude and a basket full of stamping supplies.  Well, it started to rain as I left home, just a sprinkle, but it got heavier as I drove the hour to the campgrounds, and by the time I got up there the campground was like it was flooded over.  I never saw so much standing water.  My husband said it was so noisy from the heavy rain he had to turn off the TV, because he could not hear it.  So, the rain slowed down and stopped shortly after I arrived, and I couldn't wait to get my stamping supplies in and get creative.  I worked all evening on a card, that just was not coming together the way I envisioned, and I finally stopped without completing assembly and said maybe I would feel better about it tomorrow.  Then came the phon...
