Happy stamping in the woods
My card with a Trillium in the woods |
I love, love, love crafting at my trailer. As I was leaving today, I saw my first Trillium (Wisconsin state flower) in bloom, so I snapped a photo with my card. We had commented on Friday that the woods are still bare, hardly a bud on the trees, and the plants just popping out their heads. It got so wonderfully warm with temps in the 80's this weekend, and what happened over the next 3 days was amazing in the woods.
Over the winter we bought a new trailer (slightly used 2013 model), and we moved it up to our campgrounds in Wisconsin 2 weeks ago. We spent that weekend cleaning out our old trailer, and moving into the new. I compiled a long list of things we would need to organized our new space. It was almost like moving into a new apartment (not as much work as a home, and space is limited.) So this weekend I came back with a trunk full of organizational supplies, and got everything put into order. Then I could take out my craft supplies. In our old trailer there was so little space that when I finished crafting I would haul my old stuff back out to my car overnight. If I wanted to craft in the trailer I would have things piled all over the floor in the kitchen area, and on the bench of the dinette beside me. It was crowded to say the least, and my husband hated tripping over everything to get into the kitchen space. When shopping for a new trailer, one of the top things on my list was a space to store my craft supplies, and a cabinet where I could store some supplies that I could leave things there permanently. Happy to say, craft supplies have a new home. I could go home with just one small tote in hand.
Isn't this the most wonderful stump to photograph. I never noticed it before. It must usually be hidden by foliage. |
Now, on to my card.... my focus this week has been making floral cards. I wanted to get some cards made for Mother's Day, too. As I often do, I looked for some card challenges to inspire me, and the first thing that popped was the layout from Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #210 with this wonderful spray of flowers across it. The Colour Q #289 had the most wonderful colors for spring. Both the SUO Challenge #121 and the Stampin' Royalty #275 challenge are looking for Mother's Day cards this week, so I will show them off there as well.

when I used the flowers from Petite Petals, leaves from Stippled Blossoms, and the sentiment from Crazy About You.
I used the colors from Colour Q, but substituted So Saffron for the yellow.
And, last of all, I need to show off the new trailer in the bare woods. I never go up to the campgrounds this early in the spring, but I was anxious to get things settled in the trailers, so I could sit back and enjoy the view, the weather gets nice. It sure was nice this weekend, and I sat out on the deck and crafted for hours yesterday. Just an hour after we got home we had a storm pass through quickly with marble sized hail. Here and gone in under 20 minutes.
Stop back again soon, and I'll show you what else I made this weekend. Mary Alice
