Stampin' at the camper

Hello, Darling was the first stamp set that I chose out of the new catalog last year, and I had so much fun playing with it when I first got it, but it was one that fell by the wayside when I get caught up in all the seasonal stuff. I love playing with florals, and this one is a CAS on Sunday challenge #57 to use white and one color. I wanted to use two different tones of the same color so I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana. I used the layout from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #121 but I tipped it on it's side a little, and liked the effect. I stamped the images before I ran it through my Texture Boutique to give it a little texture, and I was very disappointed when I realized I had put in the folder upside down. My dots became pits, and I thought about starting over, but then I decided that it was another way of taking me out of that comfort zone, and I used the image in the reversed form, and decided I kind of liked it that way. I am always surprised when I get a card in a swap with the embossed image reversed from what I usually do, which reminds me there is no right or wrong. Do you like my cute banner? I used my scallop circle punch to trim the end for a fun little look. I can't wait to see and use our new stamp sets that will be coming in June, but for now it's too soon to say goodbye to Hello Darling before it retires.
bit of a twist for me. I am trying to make some CAS (clean and simple cards), just to step out of my comfort zone. I tend to enjoy layering colors and textures and adding lots of embellishments. I had seen a beautiful card by LeeAnn Pugeliese here using Hello Darling. I wanted to recreate it, in my own way and keep with the challenge at CAS on Sunday. It was fun making such a simple card.
Stop by soon and see what new stamping I'll do.
