Sunny and bright forcast for Oh So Eclectic
I have been having a busy summer, and I really haven't done much crafting. My husband and I took a 3 1/2 week road trip driving from Minnesota west to Seattle, Washington with stops in Black Hills in South Dakota, Devil's Tower in Wyoming, Yellowstone Nat'l Park, then to Spokane for 5 days to visit family. We continued west to Mt. Rainier, Olympic Nat'l Park, then to Seattle for another visit with family. We drove south through the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, to Salt Lake City, and on to Arches Nat'l Park, headed up into Colorado and headed toward Denver before heading back to Minnesota across Nebraska and Iowa. Over 5,000 miles driven, thousands of photos taken, and millions of memories made. It has been so many years since we've taken a trip like that, and a first without children. Came home exhausted, and all I could think of was how much I missed crafting. I did quite a bit of knitting on the trip, which is a change for me.
Surprising to me that I just didn't head right into the craft room when I got home, as I had new products just waiting to be played with and a list of more things that I wanted to order when I got home. I packed up my craft supplies and headed for the camper the next weekend for some fun, relaxing time, and I was intent on creating cards. Three days, and all I made was one card. I kept pulling out paper, and looking at stamp sets, and nothing seemed right. I'd lost my crafting mojo.
Another week went by, and I received my order with new products, and I was determined to make some cards. Today was the day! I went to my list of card challenges and looked for my inspiration. Started with Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 468 and they had a fun layout. I knew right away that I would use the Oh So Eclectic Stamps and the Eclectic Layer Thinlets. I knew just which designer paper was perfect for my plan. I was on a roll. Birthday cards is what I need to make this week. I have two I need to mail tomorrow for next week. SUO Challenge #180 is looking for birthday cards this week too. I used the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge at the Paper Players to tie it all together, and I think I scored on this one. I think I got my mojo back. I'll have to tell them over at As You See It Challenge too. I usually start with a sketch to inspire me first.
And the creativity just kept flowing. I was up past midnight creating and blogging tonight. Come back again tomorrow to see what else I made.
